1. Font- The font I used was called "cooper black" and the thick font really brings the words white on black against the background, 2. Color- Having the word white have a white fill and the words on black having a black fill emphasis the theme of white on black, 3&4 Location and orientation- By using the blending tool it gives the effect that that white is going into the black 5. Background- by making my background an image trace photo of zebra print and since zebras are black and white it brings out the black and white theme

1. Font- the font I used for the word textured has a lined patterned and the large X's in the background have a chalkboard font both making the text look textured, 2. Color- the brown X's make it appear to be weaved basket texture, 3. Orientation- The placement of the large X's in the background overlapping each other make it appear to be a basket weave texture, 4&5 Texture/background fill- the background fill is a textured fill and gives an appearance of hay or straw texture
1. Size- the small size of the text and all the empty space gives a quiet vide and isn't loud and in your face, 2. Font- the cursive font is delicate and not bold making it appear gentle and quiet, 3. Color- the color of the font is faint and similar to the background making it mute and quiet, 4. orientation- making the quiet into the shape of Z's to make it look like the three sleeping Z's, when you're asleep you're quiet, 5. Style- the font is very blurred making it not bold and very mute
1. Size- the size of the text is large and bold, 2. Color- The bright red is a loud color and grabs your attention immediately like loud music would, 3. Orientation- the zig zag of the the loud text coincides with the sound waves that I made with O's, 4. Texture- the roughness of the loud text gives the illusion of the text being shattered from some sort of loud noise, 5. Background- the bright blue makes the bright red pop, both are loud and bright colors

Screenshot envy

For the screenshot envy I used two images of similar flowers with vibrant colors. In the center on the sides I worked with stretching screenshots of sections of the flowers to make the illusion of meshing the flowers together. The center stripe is a screenshot of both the flowers together and I stretched it out to make it so it wouldn't look like the flowers instead would look like pixelated stripes matching the colors of the flowers. At the bottom, the squares are close up screenshots of the petals. I did squares to work with the idea that they are part of a broken apart pixelated image. The squares create movement through the image that leads you to the flowers.

Color theme

Cover

For my cover I incorporated multiple aspects from my 4 book pages. My title "maturing, learning & progressing" comes from the words on my brainstorming map which I put in the stems of the palm trees in my fills page. In my patterns page I used flowers to express my overall theme which is growth. The text I used for my name is the same text I used in my patterns page and the text that inspired my folder design.

Colors

The flowers in my page represent my overall theme which is growth. The "clouds" are actually roses and the "raindrops" are different variations of flowers. The transition of color, size, and opacity in the flowers make movement in the page along with the gradient background. The girl holding the umbrella is the emphasis, I enlarged the girl and made her white and put it behind the black filled girl to create a contrast to increase emphasis.

Patterns

For my patterns page I also added flowers to go along with my theme of growth but added patterns to the flowers to stay in line with the patterns guidelines. By making my name zig-zagged I created movement from the top left corner to the emphasis which are the flowers. I added the corner of pattern squares to eliminate some white in the background and to add as many eye appealing patterns.  Although there is a lot of white space, I feel like there is enough patterns and objects to fill the page and make it complete.

Fills

In my fills page, the growth of palm trees and change of colors creates movement throughout the page. The words "maturing", "learning", and "progressing" come from my brainstorm map. With the growth of the palm trees and the words from my brainstorm map I incorporated my theme of growth. The mostly black background creates contrast against the light grey palm trees. Th emphasis is the bright circle in the top left corner, once you are drawn to that your eyes makes their way down to the small white palm tree, creating even more movement.

Lines

The footprints in my lines page express how as you GROW you learn to walk. I also made the footprints go from large to small creating movement throughout the page. Making the footprints white against the dark background creates contrast. The large W is the emphasis. Making the W large and making it thick draws your attention to the W.
